Severe floods have displaced up to 182,000 people in Somalia, the United Nations said on Monday.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a statement that rivers that had been flooded by heavy rains over the weeks had destroyed agricultural land and roads.
It is unclear how many victims have died from flash floods, a serious problem in Somalia.
In the central Somali province of Hiran, a boat carrying senior members of the regional magazine capsized, said Hussein Ismail, deputy governor of the province for social affairs.
Members of the council were on their way to visit a number of people affected by the floods.
Ismail said at least seven people died in the incident, while others were still missing.
