The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) has stated that the humanitarian situation in Gaza has spiraled out of control, while the Gaza Ministry of Health confirmed that electrical generators have been almost completely destroyed.
The WFP emphasized that the closure of crossings, hunger, and despair have made the delivery of aid to Gaza unstable, and reiterated that a ceasefire is the only way to safely deliver assistance to the besieged enclave.
Meanwhile, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported that the Israeli occupation forces have destroyed a large number of electrical generators, the latest of which were three high-capacity generators that were bombed and burned. The Ministry added that the remaining generators are difficult to repair due to the lack of spare parts, with many at risk of being rendered inoperable.
The Ministry stated that hospital technical teams are working with limited options to boost electricity supplies to vital departments. It also stressed that the operating rooms, intensive care units, emergency departments, and neonatal incubators cannot function without electricity.
Nearly every day since Tuesday, Palestinian casualties have been reported from Israeli gunfire, as hungry Palestinians try to access U.S.-sponsored aid at distribution points overseen by the so-called "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation."
Israel has excluded the United Nations and international relief organizations, and tasked the U.S.- and Israeli-backed "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" (which is rejected by the UN) with distributing very limited aid in southern Gaza. This strategy is aimed at forcing Palestinians to flee from the north and emptying the area.
