The Queen of Britain and her husband receive the Corona vaccine

Buckingham Palace announced that Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, have received a vaccine against COVID-19.

Yesterday, Saturday, British media quoted a royal source as saying that the vaccination was carried out by a home doctor in Windsor Castle, where the royal couple is spending the lockdown period.

The source added that the queen decided to disclose that she had received the vaccine, to curb further speculation.

It is reported that the 94-year-old Queen and Prince Philip, 99, are among about 1.5 million people in Britain who have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far.

People over the age of 80 in Britain are among the top priority groups to be given the vaccine first.

The vaccinations the royal couple received were not disclosed.

On Friday, a third vaccine against the new Coronavirus was approved for use in the country, as Britain recorded the largest number of deaths due to the virus, as well as the highest daily increase in infections, in one day, since the start of the epidemic in the country.

The total number of HIV cases in the country reached 3,017,409 as of Saturday.

In order to return to normal life, countries such as Britain, China, Germany, Russia and the United States are racing against time to develop vaccines against the new Corona virus.
