The United Nations warns that aid will stop for millions of Yemenis in the coming weeks

The United Nations warned today, Saturday, against the suspension of relief aid for millions of Yemenis in the coming weeks, due to factors linked to the lack of funding.

"Without urgent funding, the aid saved to millions of lives in Yemen will stop in the next few weeks, putting them at risk of starvation," the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said in a tweet via his Twitter account.

"There are 20 million Yemenis currently suffering from food insecurity," the UN office added.

"Millions of lives in Yemen must be saved, and we must act now," the UN office said.

For nearly six years, Yemen has witnessed a violent war between the Yemeni army forces backed by the Arab coalition forces, and the Houthi militants accused of receiving support from Iran, which left one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world according to UN estimates.
