French Railways President: The strike has cost us 400 million euros so far

The head of the French Railways, Jean-Pierre Varando, confirmed that the five-day rail workers' strike in France has cost the company until now a loss of about 400 million euros, according to a newspaper quoted Le Monde is on its website today, Tuesday.

Varando noted that with the protest movement continuing over pension reforms, which affected most of France, it was too early to speak of the final losses.

The SNCF reported that the train traffic in France was seriously affected on the eve of Christmas, Monday evening, by a massive strike, noting that only a fifth of the fast trains, on average, were carrying out the scheduled flights.
