The Ministry of Health received, today, Thursday, 15 ventilators, which were donated by the International Medical Education 2000 (IMET2000) and Medical Aid Society for the Palestinians (MAP), and with the support of the British Consulate General.
The Minister of Health Dr. said. Mai Al-Kailah: “These devices will greatly help in treating people with Coronavirus, and we thank the efforts of the International Medical Education Association, the Palestinian Medical Aid Society and the British Consulate for their great support for the health sector, especially in strengthening Palestine’s efforts to confront the Corona pandemic.”
The minister added, "Nine other modern devices will soon be shipped to hospitals in the Gaza Strip, and the MAP Association in Gaza will distribute a set of sanitary tools to quarantine centers, disinfectant and sterile materials for hospitals and health clinics, and personal protection equipment (PPE) for workers in the field. Health. "
A Palestinian medical team affiliated with the International Medical Education Association will begin training doctors and nurses in five hospitals in the northern governorates (West Bank), which will receive modern artificial respiratory pressure devices, while adhering to the Ministry of Health´s preventive guidelines to reduce the risks of transmission of the Coronavirus.
The training will include: Dora Governmental Hospital, Hebron Governmental Hospital, Military Hospital in Nablus, Hugo Chavez Hospital, and Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah.
For his part, Mr. Philip Hall, the British Consul General in Jerusalem, said: “The United Kingdom is proud of its continuous support for the Palestine Plan in its response to confronting the Coronavirus, as Britain has provided support for the salaries of health workers, the World Health Organization, UNICEF and UNRWA, and these modern respirators reflect The best of British design and Formula One. These devices are now being used successfully on Thousands of patients in 106 hospitals in Britain, where the British National Health Service has purchased 10,000 of these devices because they have proven their quality, Professor Shipley is a member of IMET2000 Board of Trustees, and we are very grateful for her help in allocating these devices for us to present to Palestine. ”
