A young woman was shot dead by the occupation today, Wednesday, at the Hizma checkpoint, east of occupied Jerusalem.
The official agency (Wafa) said that the occupation forces opened fire on the lecturer at Al-Istiqlal University College, Mai Khaled Youssef Afana (29 years), from the town of Abu Dis, northeast of Jerusalem.
She added that the martyr Afaneh was driving her vehicle at the entrance to the town of Hizma, and by mistake she took a “military” street, which the occupation began in her apartment a week ago, which led to her death.
And the Hebrew Channel 13 claimed, “A Palestinian woman tried to run over Israeli soldiers near the checkpoint, ‘before she got out of her vehicle and tried to stab them,’ but one of the soldiers opened fire at her.”
The Israeli army radio reported that a soldier was slightly wounded in Hizma, and that an investigation was underway to see if he was hit by “friendly fire.”
