The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Monday that the number of Palestinians in the world by the end of 2018 reached some 13.05 million Palestinians.
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, 4.91 million Palestinians reside in the Palestinian territories, about 1.57 million inside Israel, some 5.85 million in the Arab countries and about 717 thousand in foreign countries.
According to the report, Palestinians in the Palestinian territories are divided between about 2.954 million in the West Bank and 1.961 million in the Gaza Strip.
The refugee population accounted for about 42 per cent of the total Palestinian population residing in the Palestinian territories, with 26 per cent in the West Bank and 66 per cent in the Gaza Strip.
The report observed that the population growth rate for residents of the Palestinian territories was about 2.5 per cent for 2018, compared to a 1.7 per cent population growth rate for Jews.
