The Italian government has joined the group of countries supporting the construction of the central desalination plant in the Gaza Strip, after converting an 8 million euro loan into a grant for the work of the desalination plant.

Ghoneim praised the Efforts of the Italian government to support the Palestinian water sector, through projects implemented not only in the water sector, but in different sectors, and support this strategic project to avoid the disaster and we are on the threshold of 2020, pointing out that it is considered the largest Italian support For Palestinian projects.
He explained that the Water Authority has succeeded through successive efforts in securing 95% of the value of the program, and continues to discuss with partners and supporters to provide support.
Ghoneim put his guest in the form of practical steps undertaken by the Water Authority to implement the central desalination plant, including the tender of the southern carrier line, and the start of the expansion of additional water systems in the south and centre.
He also discussed with him the possibility of supporting the establishment of the network of Arab experts emanating from the International Conference on Arab Waters under occupation, which is mandated by the State of Palestine to form it, and aims to address the dangers and challenges facing the Mediterranean countries in the issue of water, and to seek creative initiatives to address the problems and monitor solutions. Appropriate.
For his part, Sekoloftich praised the water authority´s efforts in the development of this humanitarian sector, stressing that the aspects and mechanisms that can be worked out will be discussed to open up future cooperation between the two countries.
