Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his congratulations on the United Nations marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
In a special congratulatory message, Xi said Wednesday that the question of Palestine is at the heart of the Middle East issue, adding that it is in the interest of the international community to find a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue and help Palestine and Israel achieve peaceful coexistence and common development.
The international community must safeguard integrity and justice, adhere to relevant UN resolutions as well as the principle of "land for peace" and a two-state solution, to create an atmosphere conducive to the resumption of Palestinian-Israeli peace talks, Xi said.
The Chinese president stressed that China, as a good friend, partner and brother of the Palestinian people, is a firm supporter of the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks.
China supports the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights, and supports Palestine in building an independent and fully sovereign state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
China is ready to work with the international community to push forward the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks and seek a lasting, just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, Xi said.
