Former Israeli army minister Moshe Ya´alon on Saturday criticized the transfer of Qatari funds to the Gaza Strip.
Ya´alon said in a statement quoted by the Yediot Aharonot website that the money was being transported to Gaza, where Hamas was acting at its own pace, noting that the movement had given money to demonstrators arriving at the fence.
Ya´alon touched on the military operation on the northern border to search for Hezbollah´s tunnels, saying "dealing with tunnels in the north was a political step."
On the upcoming elections, he stressed that he would not enter into a coalition led by the Likud Party headed by Benjamin Netanyahu. He is working with several parties to form a unified bloc to confront Netanyahu.
