A number of youths were injured friday when Israeli occupying forces opened fire on groups of them in various areas of the Gaza Strip border.

According to our correspondent in Gaza, the occupying forces injured three youths on the eastern border of jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip, while at least four other youths were injured east of Khanyounis, and another east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

Earlier, Palestinian resistance had fired three mortar shells at the Ashkol settlement complex adjacent to the Khanyounis border.

An IDF spokesman confirmed the firing of the three shells, noting that the dome hit a shell while the other shells landed in open areas.

The occupying forces had previously fired and gas canisters at a group of youths in the border area of East Khanyounis, but no injuries were reported.

Following the rocket fire, Israeli artillery fired at least one shell at a resistance monitoring post east of al-Bureij camp east of the central Gaza Strip, but no casualties were reported.
