The government spokesman, Ibrahim Melhem, announced today, Thursday, that the number of cases of Corona virus in Palestine has risen to 84, after 13 new cases were recorded in the village of Bedou, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, today.

Melhem said in an interview with "Al-Quds" that the number of injuries recorded in the Bedouin was 16 since Wednesday, including the woman who was announced yesterday, and she died and was buried that evening.

He noted that among the cases in the village of Bedou, a 15-year-old and a 12-year-old child were due to contact with workers.

He explained that "Palestine is going through a critical stage of the spread of the epidemic, which is now touching the stage of danger, which requires everyone to take the utmost care and caution." Noting that about 20 doctors, nurses and auxiliaries were quarantined because of their contact with Ibn Faqeeda Bedou, who is infected with coronavirus.

He pointed out that President Mahmoud Abbas directed the intensification of precautionary measures and measures, and accordingly Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh will issue more strict measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

He pointed out that there is a shortage of medical devices and the necessary protective tools to confront the pandemic, and in the test strips, and that the government seeks to provide them, despite the shortage in their availability worldwide.

Melhem pointed out that the government may have to extend the state of emergency, and more serious measures will be taken against those who violate the instructions, referring to the Bethlehem model to contain the proliferation that was achieved due to awareness and commitment.

This brings the total number of HIV infections since its emergence in Palestine to 84, of which 17 recovered in the city of Bethlehem, and one death was recorded.
