President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday awarded Japanese Defense Minister Taro Kono the Order of the Great Star of the Order of Jerusalem.
In recognition of his distinguished role in promoting Japan-Palestine relations, the president awarded Medal to Kono in recognition of his efforts to support peace in the Middle East, the official Wafa news agency reported.
Minister Kono is a Japanese politician, former foreign minister, and chairman of the Japan-Palestine Parliamentary Friendship Committee.
