The European Union supports Palestinian agriculture with $ 26.7 million

The Palestinian Authority signed today, Wednesday, with the European Union, a support agreement worth 22.8 million euros (26.7 million dollars), to boost the agricultural sector and create job opportunities in the occupied West Bank.

On the Palestinian side, it was signed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh, and for the European Union, head of the negotiations for neighborhood and enlargement within the Union, Henrika Trautmann.

The agreement includes land reclamation, irrigation and support for farmers in various fields, including livestock.

The agreement comes to support the national development plan and the agricultural "clusters" plan that the government adopted two years ago.

It is worth noting that the agricultural "clusters" received ample government support, as the Qalqilya Agricultural Cluster was completed in its first stage, and the focus is now on the Jordan Valley and Tubas area, as they are the most vulnerable to settlement and land confiscation.
