The European Union called, on Tuesday evening, to stop all demolitions carried out by the occupation authorities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The European Union Mission in Jerusalem said, in a tweet posted in Arabic and English on its official social media platforms, “It is tragic that in 2021 Israel displaced 595 Palestinians, including 320 children in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, which represents an increase of 50%. compared to last year.”
She added: "In the last demolition operation in Homsah (Northern Jordan Valley) on July 7, 42 people were displaced, including 24 children, and they are now in dire need of humanitarian assistance."
And she continued: “In the past two days, 3 Palestinian families in East Jerusalem, including Silwan, were forced to demolish their homes themselves. These activities are not only cruel, but also illegal under international law and must stop.”
It is noteworthy that, according to the monthly report of Wafa Agency, during the month of June, the occupation forces carried out 31 demolition operations of homes and facilities in different governorates, while handing 92 demolition notices to homes, homes under construction, or commercial and agricultural establishments.
Since the beginning of this month, the occupation authorities have forced 5 citizens in occupied Jerusalem to demolish their homes. The occupation mechanisms also demolished a school under construction northeast of the occupied city of Jerusalem, and demolished five facilities in the village of Haris, west of Salfit, and a water pool for agricultural use near Bardala village in the northern Jordan Valley. The house of the prisoner Montaser al-Shalabi in the town of Turmusaya, north of Ramallah, in addition to the demolition of the facilities of citizens and their displacement in Khirbet Humsa al-Fouqa in the northern Jordan Valley.
