Putin issues a decree according to which Russia acquires the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant

Russia has formally acquired the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine, which it has occupied militarily for months, by decree signed Wednesday by its President Vladimir Putin.

"The government will take care to integrate the nuclear facilities of the plant ... as a federal property," the decree said, while International Atomic Energy Agency Director Rafael Grossi is expected to visit Ukraine and Russia soon.
