16 European ambassadors presented a protest letter to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressing their great concern regarding talk about construction in the "E.1" area.
The ambassadors emphasized in the message that building in this sensitive region would undermine the possibility of negotiating a two-state solution, would hinder communication to the Palestinian state, and would place restrictions on the possibility of negotiation in accordance with the agreed international framework.
The signatory countries are: France, Germany, Italy, Britain, Spain, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia and Sweden.
