President Abbas meets with Japanese Prime Minister

 President Mahmoud Abbas met Monday with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Tokyo for a three-day visit.

President Abbas briefed the Japanese official on the latest developments in the Palestinian issue and the region and the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of developing them in various fields.

The President thanked Japan for its stances and efforts in supporting the Palestinian people and supporting their just cause for their freedom and independence.

The president is scheduled to meet with Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and Defense Minister Taro Kono on Tuesday. He will also attend the inauguration of Japanese Emperor Naruhito on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by a member of the PLO Executive Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Ziad Abu Amr, Judge Judge Mahmoud Al-Habbash, Presidential Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs Majdi Al-Khalidi, and Palestine Ambassador to Japan Walid Siam.
