The UN envoy for the Middle East peace process, Nikolai Miladinov, said Tuesday that he was working alongside several parties to prevent a new war on the Gaza front.
"There are constant contacts between the United Nations, Egypt, Israel and the Palestinians in order to prevent the" bloodshed, "Miladiov said during the Conference of the Movement of women making peace in the left-wing Israel.
"It is unacceptable that anyone is under threat of terror of rockets and bombs," he said. "We should not allow parents to bury their children and watch them get shot or rockets." He stressed that attempts to avoid bloodshed should be successful.
He stressed the need to press for the return of Palestinians and Israelis to the negotiating table.
