A Palestinian was killed Wednesday morning by shelling from an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft targeting a group of fighters north-west of the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia.
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said the martyr is Naji Jamal al-Zaanin, 25, a resident of the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun.
An Israeli army spokesman said he had targeted a group that fired rockets at Ashkelon. Two rockets landed in the area without injuries or damage, he said.
A number of citizens were injured by Israeli warplanes carrying out a series of air raids on the Gaza Strip following the fall of a Grad rocket in the city of Be´er Sheva and another in the Gush Dan area.
