Japanese ambassador confirms his country´s support for the health sector in Palestine

H.E. Mr. Takeshi Okobo, Ambassador of the State of Japan to the State of Palestine, confirmed his country´s support for the health sector in Palestine, and in the Gaza Strip in particular, during his visit to Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Rantisi paediatric hospital accompanied by Ms. Yoko Mitsui representative of Jayka in Palestine, to continue receiving For a second of the Japanese pharmaceutical grant, which amounts to 160,000 dollars of the total million dollars, the grant includes basic cancer medicines.

Mr. Okobo spoke about Japan´s sympathy for the people in the Gaza Strip who are suffering from a difficult humanitarian situation, and about the strenuous efforts of medical staff in hospitals to provide health care, and hoped that this grant of medicines would help alleviate the actual need for the drug in Gaza with a growing For the need for specialty medications for different patients especially cancer patients.

Dr. Mohamed Abou Salamiyah, director of Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Rantisi Hospital for Children, thanked the Ministry of Health for the Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Takeshi Okobo, which is a confirmation of the friendship between the Japanese and Palestinian peoples and the provision of support especially in the field of health, which is subjected to a number of Complex and complicated crises.

Dr. Munir Al-Barsh, director general of Pharmacy, said that the Japanese medicine grant is a panacea for the patients of the Gaza Strip due to the dire need of the drug, in advance thanks and appreciation to the crew of Jayka for their diligent follow-up and facilitating the access of medicines to the ministry´s warehouses in Gaza.
