Today, Monday, an official at the Israeli Ministry of Health warned that 7,000 infections will be recorded daily within the coming days, if measures are not taken to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.
Sharon Braish, Director of Health Services, said before the Israeli Knesset Law Committee, “The recent restriction regulations called (the green badge) were aimed at reaching this number of infections per day, and preventing the recorded epidemiological situation from deteriorating even further.”
This comes in light of differences within the Israeli government, regarding imposing a comprehensive or limited closure in the coming period, especially with the Jewish holidays at the end of this month and next month.
“He opposes the closure despite the high infection rates,” said Avigdor Lieberman, the Israeli Finance Minister, calling for learning to live with the virus, as is the case with the flu.
Lieberman added, “Living alongside Corona and devoting a lot of effort to prevent the closure, Corona’s routine is nothing new or surprising, and we must learn to live with it, we know how to live side by side with the flu.”
Lieberman stressed that imposing the closure would greatly harm the economy, calling for investing efforts and budgets in strengthening the health system, providing the largest possible number of vaccines, and preparing for the start of the school year.
In the same context, the Israeli Ministry of Health said: “Out of about 600,000 people who received the third dose, less than 50 reports of side effects have so far been received.”
The Israeli Ministry of Health indicated that the symptoms reported were mild and ended quickly (pain at the injection site, fever, nausea).
