The private sector in the Gaza Strip is operating at a production capacity not exceeding 15% due to the continuation of the Palestinian division and the Israeli siege for the thirteenth year, the head of the Palestinian Businessmen Association said.
Hayek said in a press statement that the bad conditions in the Gaza Strip are still dominant in the Gaza economy in light of the continuous bleeding of the productive sectors, which has affected thousands of economic activities in the Gaza Strip.
He pointed out that the economy of the sector is suffering from the largest deficit in terms of the number of economic establishments and new investments, and the employment of labor, pointing out that the survival of the situation without any urgent intervention foreshadows more economic crises and complications, especially in terms of the number of poor and unemployed.
Hayek added that the Gaza Strip needs to be open to the outside world to end its major crises, especially in light of the accumulation of vulnerability factors and the absence of any real interventions to solve them, the most important of which is the unprecedented decline in international support, and the crises of liquidity, unemployment, poverty and food insecurity.
Hayek pointed out that the situation in Gaza is no longer intolerable and will have serious repercussions on all parties, warning of the seriousness of the next, and access to the case of the explosion.
Hayek stressed the importance of "achieving and achieving Palestinian reconciliation as one of the strategic and fundamental exits, because it may raise excuses in relation to the Israeli blockade and restore the work of international institutions in one way or another."
