Iyad Abu Karsh, Director of Critical Medicine at the Ministry of Health in Gaza, said today, Monday, that the intensive care department of the European Gaza Hospital is being prepared to reach its clinical capacity to 100 clinical units.
In a press statement, Abu Karsh said that the clinical units have been reinforced with respirators, monitoring devices, medical supplies and medicines, indicating that these equipment come within the Ministry of Health´s preparations to confront the Corona pandemic with the onset of winter.
He pointed out that, in conjunction with the preparation of the clinical units, (52) intensive care doctors were trained, in cooperation with the development of manpower, and they were subjected to intensive training courses at the rate of five scientific lectures interspersed with practical courses and training on scenarios for dealing with critical difficult cases within the intensive care departments, to be screened in European Gaza Hospital and other hospitals
