Gantz declares victory in the Israeli Knesset elections

The leader of the Blue White party, Benny Gantz, announced Thursday that he had won the Israeli Knesset (parliament) election hours before the CEC announced the final results.

The head of the rival party "Blue White" Benny Gantz, he must be the head of the government of national unity that must emerge from these elections.

"The Israelis want a unity government," the head of the Blue White party told reporters before meeting his party cadres.

According to local Israeli media, a senior official in Gantz´s blue-white party rejected Netanyahu´s call as a "political spinning."

A clear blue-white party won 33 seats after 97 percent of the votes were counted in Israel´s parliamentary elections this morning, while Benjamin Netanyahu´s Likud party won 31 seats.
