The Prisoner Issues Specialist Abdel Nasser Farwana emphasized that targeting Palestinian journalists has not stopped, but has escalated since the outbreak of the Jerusalem uprising in October 2015, pointing to the monitoring and documentation of hundreds of violations against them, including detention, arrest, assault and Storming, closing down media organizations and confiscating equipment and devices, in addition to chasing, summoning and restricting the movement of many journalists and preventing others from traveling.

Farwana said in a press statement that the targeting also affected Facebook activists who expressed their opinions with a few words on the pages of social media, with the aim of suppressing them and taking revenge on them, spreading fear in them and muzzling their mouths, influencing their orientations and the nature of their interests, and distorting their free pens and withholding the truth that they capture Their camera lenses, and forcibly or impartially absent them from their professional duties.

Farawneh praised the role of the national journalists in general and their standing beside the issue of the prisoners in particular, and we call on all international federations that specialize in the media and the press and all media workers and defenders of freedom of opinion and expression to take a serious move to support their colleagues who are locked in Israeli prisons, and to provide protection for Palestinian journalists and all those working in the field Press and media in the Palestinian Territories.
