Foreign Ministry calls for urgent international action to protect Al-Aqsa

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants condemned the escalation of the Israeli occupation forces, the gangs of extremist settlers and various Jewish groups in their raids on the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the participation of Israeli ministers and officials in the raid under the protection and guard of the occupation forces and police.

In a statement, the ministry condemned the occupation authorities´ closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque in the same pretext. Its aim is to capture the entire city and falsify its identity, in line with the occupation´s narrative.

It again warned of the dangers of this escalation and the repercussions of changing the historical and legal situation in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Holy City in general. And the decisions of the World Heritage Committee in this regard, and before it is too late.

She stressed that the Palestinian-Jordanian coordination is continuing at the highest levels to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque and holy sites in the occupied city, in order to ensure the cessation of Israeli aggressions and incursions and its continued targeting of holy sites and Islamic endowments in Jerusalem.This coordination includes joint preparation for the convening of the session of the Executive Council of UNESCO next month.

The ministry stressed that occupied East Jerusalem is an integral part of the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967 and is the capital of the State of Palestine, and that the Jerusalemites with their steadfastness and cohesion will fail the plans of the occupation and drop its narrative, but this does not absolve the Arab and Islamic worlds of the responsibility to provide all the elements of steadfastness and a free and dignified life for Jerusalemites. And their international economy.
