Erekat: Israel prevents the provision of health services to the Palestinians in Jerusalem to confront Corona

(Xinhua) The Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Saeb Erekat, said on Tuesday that Israel is preventing the provision of health services to Palestinians in East Jerusalem to counter the emerging Corona virus.

Erekat said in statements to the official "Voice of Palestine" radio, that Israel’s measures prevent the provision of health services to protect Jerusalemites and any services to prevent corona virus.

He added that the Israeli authorities "confiscate foodstuffs and do not allow the sterilization of public places, at a time when they continue their violations in the holy city of arrests and intrusions and targeting Palestinian leaders."

Erekat confirmed that Palestinian messages were sent to many international bodies about the situation in Jerusalem, and Israel’s continued raid on cities, villages and camps, and that these files were placed before the International Criminal Court.

He believed that "the practices of the Israeli government aim to destroy any role for the Palestinian Authority and pave the way for the annexation project (for the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967) completely."

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 39 cases of Corona virus infection were recorded among Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem.
