Erekat: International consensus to reject Netanyahu-Trump´s plan for annexation and continued settlement expansion

International officials unanimously rejected the Netanyahu-Trump plan and his team for annexation and continued expansion of settlements, preserving the principle of a two-state solution on the borders of June 4, 1967, and conducting direct dialogue between the two parties with the assistance of the Quartet of International Mediators.

They also unanimously agreed, during their contacts with them, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the PLO, Saeb Erekat, on the necessity of combating the "Corona" virus to stop its spread and neutralizing its negative effects, and supporting UNRWA to continue providing its services to Palestinian refugees in all places of asylum.

Erekat, in his contacts with the European envoy to the peace process Susanna Tristel, and the United Nations peace envoy Nikolai Miladonov, discussed the horizon of the Palestinian-Israeli settlement based on international laws, saving the peace process with the help of the international community, especially members of the UN Security Council, and the release of prisoners in the occupation prisons.

Erekat also contacted, for the second consecutive day, with Spanish Foreign Minister Arincha Gonzales, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ireland Simon Kovny and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov to brief them on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena.
