Weekly mass demonstrations continued in Israel to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government, due to the corruption cases he is accused of before the courts, and the failure to confront the economic crisis, which followed the health crisis with the spread of the Corona virus, and the repeated and unjustified closures As the organizers of those demonstrations see.
The demonstrations continue for the nineteenth consecutive week (every Saturday), with the participation of tens of thousands of opponents of Netanyahu, as members of the Knesset from the opposition, and former political and military figures, sometimes participate in those demonstrations, which cover most Israeli cities.
According to the Yedioth Ahronoth website, the Israeli police closed many streets before the demonstrations near Netanyahu´s home in Jerusalem, noting that the police arrested a number of demonstrators who went out in main streets without obtaining a permit to demonstrate.
According to the Maariv newspaper website, demonstrations are taking place in a thousand points across Israeli cities, most notably Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa, and they are calling for a new leadership for Israel, under the slogan "Elections Now."
And what the newspaper described as "thugs" vandalized the banners and slogans of the leftist Peace Now movement, before a protest march to commemorate the assassination of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, in Zion Square in Jerusalem.
Peace Now filed a complaint with the Israeli police, considering what happened as a continuation of the incitement against the demonstrators.
The movement said, "Even after 25 years of the assassination, nothing has changed, the incitement is still going on."
