Milos Zaman, president of the Czech public, said Monday that he does not believe in a two-state solution and that there must be one country for two peoples.
During his meeting with Israeli President Rauf Rivlin, Zaman said he wanted to hear ideas from Rivlin about the one-state solution. "I know it´s a provocative idea, but I would love to hear your arguments, so I can´t imagine that there is a country in Gaza alone," he added.
For his part, Rivlin said, I truly believe in the Jewish democratic State, but allow me to say, "Israel will always be democratic for all its citizens."
"Zaman" arrived in Israel yesterday and is scheduled to deliver a speech to the Israeli Knesset today. He will also participate in the inauguration of the Czech Cultural Centre, which was transferred from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
