Today, Wednesday, 230 settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, guarded by the Israeli occupation police.
The Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem reported that the settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in groups, each group included about 20 settlers, toured its courtyards and carried out provocative tours. She pointed out that 25 Israeli policemen stormed the mosque´s roofed chapels, and the intruders performed Talmudic rituals in the eastern area of the mosque, provoking the guards and worshipers. The intensification of the settlers’ and their leaders’ incursions coincided with their preparation to storm Al-Aqsa on July 18, on the occasion of the so-called “destruction of the Temple” anniversary. Jerusalem’s calls continued to intensify the pilgrimage to the mosque and the seclusion inside it to repel these incursions. The occupation police allow Jewish settlers to storm Al-Aqsa in two periods; Morning and evening lasting several hours. Al-Aqsa Mosque is subjected to continuous Israeli incursions by settlers and the occupation police, and attempts to prevent its reconstruction, in addition to imposing strict restrictions on its pilgrims. Since the occupation of Jerusalem in 1967, the occupation authorities have controlled the keys to the Mughrabi Gate, and through it, settlers and occupation forces carry out daily incursions.
