165 Palestinian martyrs since the beginning of this year

The National Gathering of the Families of the Martyrs of Palestine said today, Sunday, that the number of martyrs since the beginning of this year has reached 165 martyrs in all governorates of the country.

And the Secretary-General of the gathering, Muhammad Sbeihat, indicated, in a statement to the gathering, that the number of martyrs who rose from July 1 until yesterday, reached 88, bringing the total number of martyrs since the beginning of this year to 165 martyrs, including 45 martyrs from Jenin governorate, and 68 from The other West Bank governorates (including Jerusalem), and 52 of the five Gaza governorates (during the Israeli aggression on the Gaza governorates last August).

He pointed out that the number of martyrs during the last three months is one more than the number of martyrs during the first six months of this year.

Subaihat indicated that there is a 66 percent increase in the number of martyrs, compared to the same period last year, during which 99 martyrs rose, while 116 martyrs rose during the year 2021.

He explained that the number of child martyrs reached 34 martyrs this year, equivalent to approximately 21% of the total number of martyrs, in addition to 14 female martyrs, which means that the percentage of child martyrs and female martyrs among the total number of martyrs amounted to about 30%.

Sbeihat said: The number of martyrs during the last seven years, i.e. from 10/3/2015 to this day, has reached 1127 martyrs, including 229 children, or 20 and a half percent of the total number of martyrs, in addition to 71 female martyrs. This means that the percentage of child martyrs and female martyrs is approximately 26% of the total number of martyrs.
