The Government of National Accord warned of the dangers of the new Israeli escalation in the occupied city of Jerusalem, particularly the aggression against the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque.
"The closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the pursuit of the people in its surroundings, the neighbourhoods and parts of our city, the capital of our country, the incubator of our cultural heritage and our history, occupied Arab Jerusalem, are part of the targeted occupation plans," government spokesman Yusuf al-Mahmoud said in a press release on Friday evening. To discredit the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the colonial conquest of the Holy Arab City, which is extremely dangerous because it opens the way to a religious war that is being destroyed and rejected by our culture and traditions. "
The spokesman stressed that the violation of the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Islamic and Christian holy places would not pass and would not be accepted by the Palestinian people.
The Mahmud blamed the Israeli Government and the administration of US president Donald Trump for the situation in the city of Jerusalem and the rest of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
