With every morning´s sunshine, the inhabitants of Kafr El Dik, west of Salfit, wake up with the sound of massive bulldozers sweeping their agricultural and pastoral lands from four settlements surrounded by a wrist bracelet.
The settlers did not confine themselves to what they had confiscated and took refuge in a new ploy by declaring a land area "Girls of the West", a natural reserve in the governorate of Salfit, similar to the Qana Valley Reserve, which is located west of Deir Estia Township.
The inhabitants and farmers of Kafr el-Dik refuse to accept or deal with the occupation authorities in the area of "Girls of the land" as a nature reserve; they exist prior to the occupation and, according to Marwan Naji, the mayor of Kafr el-Dik, the landowners have proof of ownership of their land, whether in the "Girls ´ reserve" or in the rest Land confiscated by the occupation.
The farmers of Kafr el-Dik call on local and international human rights institutions to stop the decision and prevent the occupation from confiscating more lands in Kafr el-Dik, where more than two thirds of them have become sources, notified of confiscation, bypass streets, nature reserves or outposts.
The farmer, Mahmoud al-Dik, says that the occupation authorities and settlers are targeting the area of "Girls of the land" to expand settlements in the area; they are depriving citizens and landowners of their land to abandon them and to facilitate their control and annexation for settlement purposes.
And with heartbreak and pain The rooster looks at the area "Girls of righteousness"; he says: "We have only one area of" land "left to us from pastoral, agricultural and wooded lands;
According to the municipal engineer of Kafr El-Dik, Mohammed Ziad, the area of "Girls of Righteousness" was named in relation to the ruins of a monument on top of the hill, the remainder of the town´s land for urban expansion and the structural scheme, and if it were to be like Wade Cana, Kufr al-Dik loses and loses its best land, and Muak cannot Its growth and expansion in the structural and physical scheme, which has no alternative to the "Girls of the Land" under the briefing of an industrial area of the town and three settlements: for smelling, boudouel, Aley and Prokhin.
The occupation also notified many of the town´s houses near the "Girls ´ Area" by demolition, including my home, on the pretext that it was near the bypass settlement Road, which is located under the settlement of the settlements of the "ZAHF".
From afar, one sees an area "Girls of righteousness", the term pastoral land, including wooded lands and olive fields, surrounded by the settlement of "Budel" from the north, and the settlement of "Beit Arieh" from the south, located north-west of Ramallah, which may explain the occupation´s subsequent confiscation by declaring it a natural reserve.
Statistics from the Arij Institute of Land Research document that the town of Kafr el-Dik is one of the most endemic towns and villages in the governorate of Salfit; it is in the settlement strip area around the so-called "Trans-Samaria" road, and its most land has already been confiscated in favour of settlement expansion.
