The European Union on Saturday rejected Israel´s decision to bid for the construction of more than 800 new settlement units in the settlements of Ramot and Pisgat Ze´ev in east Jerusalem.
In a statement issued by the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, the Union considered that Israel´s settlement policy undermines the two-state solution.
"The EU will continue to engage in contacts between the parties and its international and regional partners to support the reduction of a meaningful process towards the two-state negotiations," he said.
On Thursday, Israel offered tenders to build 805 settlement units in the settlements.
