The Prisoners´ Affairs Committee released Wednesday a report on the deterioration of the health situation of four Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, as a result of the apparent negligence of their patients and the lack of care for them.
Among the cases documented in the PCATI report is the case of Kamal Abu ´Oer, 46, from the town of Qabatiya in Jenin Governorate, who is in the "Jalbou´" detention center, where he suffers from cancerous tumor and broken platelets. His condition deteriorates significantly and until the moment The administration of the Israeli prisons did not provide any special medicine or therapeutic doses for his illness.
The report also revealed that the prisoner Nasser Jada, 30, from Burqin, Jenin District, who is in Megiddo detention center, suffers from a disco in the back. He needs special medical care, but Ofer´s administration did not give him any real treatment for his condition.
In its report, ICHR noted that the administration of Ishel continues to neglect the health of the prisoner Mekdad al-Hih, 25, from the town of Surif, north of Hebron, whose condition has recently worsened due to acute aches in the stomach and respiratory distress. He is able to sleep because of the shrapnel that is still in his body as a result of being shot by the Israeli army during his arrest. He is in urgent need of being transferred to a hospital for treatment, but the detainee´s administration continues to turn him over and only gives him painkillers.
