JERUSALEM _ Palestine News Network

The US administration has decided to deduct more than 20 million dollars that Congress has passed to the occupied Jerusalem hospitals, the Ha´aretz Post reported Saturday.

The decision, which was taken on Thursday, threatens to continue the work of a section of hospitals in financial distress, according to Ha´aretz, the decision was taken despite pressure from some Christian groups supporting these community hospitals in the occupied part of the city since 1967.

The U.S. resolution is mainly aimed at my hospital  "Augusta Victoria ", a prestigious church hospital next to Jabal al-outskirts, and  "St. George ", the most important specialist hospital for the treatment of eye diseases in Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

"The amount will be transferred to other targets in the Middle East," a US State Department source said.

The decision by the US administration to resolve the dispute over how to deal with hospitals in occupied Jerusalem, the administration hesitated to take this step even after the decision to reduce $200 million of U.S. support to the Palestinians,  "fear of any effects on the humanitarian situation", in addition to the Morse on the Trump administration for not being exposed to the Mashafi.

Former US Agency for International Development (USAID) official, Deb Hardin, warned that the US decision could lead to the "collapse" of the hospital network in occupied Jerusalem, especially as the decision would harm cancer patients in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, who rely on Jerusalem hospitals for treatment.

On the same day, US president Donald Trump said he would continue to cut financial aid for the Palestinians unless the Palestinian leadership agreed to discuss his peace plan aimed at settling the Palestinian issue, known as the "Deal of the century."

This came in a more than 25-minute telephone conversation, conducted by the US president, his brother-in-law, and his senior advisor, Jared Kouchner, as well as the US ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, during a conference of Jewish sisters on the occasion of the "Hebrew New Year".

"The United States is paying you huge sums of money," Trump said during a telephone conversation with Israeli media outlets. I am now telling you: we will not pay any amount until you agree to make a deal, if you do not make a deal, we do not pay you  ".

"I don´t think that´s a disrespect," Trump said. I think it´s disrespectful not to sit at the table. " "The United States will continue to protect Israel in international organizations," he said.

Trump said he was calling for the withdrawal of Jerusalem´s dossier and not including the files at the negotiating table, and considered that it would make it easier to reach an agreement with the Palestinians, and the President of the United States said that "Jews can be optimistic that the administration will succeed in finding a solution to the conflict in a peace agreement."
