Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the General Administration of Hospitals at the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, Dr. Naim Ayoub, said that the total number of births in hospitals was recorded (16135), including natural births (12115) and caesarean sections (4,020).
Ayoub pointed out, in a press statement on Tuesday, that the largest number of births was in Al-Shifa Medical Complex, with 6543 births recorded.
He explained that the number of emergency caesarean deliveries in the hospitals of the Ministry of Health recorded 2,175, while the scheduled ones amounted to 1,798, while twins were recorded as 304.
