Ashraf al-Qudra, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, told a press conference that no injuries had been recorded in the Strip, noting that 39 laboratory tests had been carried out and that the results were negative.
Al-Qudra pointed out that the Corona virus testing device was provided in the Gaza Strip, as samples were previously sent for testing in the West Bank.
He called on the ability of all citizens to adhere to all health standards to prevent the virus, noting that 2778 citizens are currently subject to quarantine, and that 240 citizens are in quarantine centers prepared by the ministry.
He pointed out that the Muscat Center in Khan Yunis was allocated to host the returning medical cases through the Gaza Strip outlets, and that a field hospital is being prepared to isolate suspected cases of HIV at the Rafah crossing, with a capacity of 38 cases, and that it is expandable, and is equipped with residential, intensive care, laboratory and radiology departments.
For his part, Iyad Al-Bazem, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior in Gaza, said that a committee had been formed to follow up on more than 2500 cases of home quarantine in the Gaza Strip, noting that 191 travelers entered the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing today, all of them were referred to the compulsory precaution for 14 days.
He added that 38 citizens arrived at the Beit Hanoun "Erez" checkpoint, and they were also placed in the compulsory precaution.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Interior granted licenses to 520 detainees in its glasses until further notice, noting that this period is not calculated from the period of imprisonment, and that most of them are held against the background of financial receivables.
And that the Correction and Rehabilitation Directorate released 87 inmates who had spent two-thirds of the term, after studying their files in accordance with legal procedures.
Al-Bazm indicated that a decision was issued to stop all visits within the correction and rehabilitation centers, and to replace them during this stage with telephone calls between inmates and their families.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Interior stated that an emergency cell has been formed to follow up and monitor rumor mongers via social media, noting that "6 rumor mongers in the sector have been held accountable for Corona, and legal measures have been taken against them."
For his part, Salama Maarouf, head of the government media office in Gaza, called on the Palestinian government in Ramallah to expedite the handing over of the Turkish hospital in the Gaza Strip to the Ministry of Health in Gaza in order to benefit from this large health center.
He indicated that a number of quarantine centers have been opened for returnees from abroad, and that there are great efforts being made to establish more health centers for returnees from abroad.
He called on citizens to adhere to all health standards to prevent the "Corona" virus and prevent gatherings of more than 100 people.
