The Israel Broadcasting Corporation reported that negotiations between Netanyahu´s Likud and "Blue and White" party, led by Gantz, are scheduled to resume this evening.

The commission clarified that during yesterday´s meeting, "understandings were reached on most contentious issues, especially on the issue of the composition of the Judges Appointment Committee."

It quoted sources close to the negotiations as saying that Gantz demands that the rotating prime minister bill be approved before the loyalty statement is issued, so that Gantz will perform this statement at the same time with Netanyahu, so that Gantz automatically takes over as prime minister after a year and a half.

The continuation of negotiations comes after Israeli President Reuven Rivlin extended the night before the deadline given to Gantz to form a government just two days.

Gantz was authorized to form a government after the elections that took place on the second of March.

Netanyahu´s Likud party won 36 seats in the 120-seat Knesset after the last elections, while the Gantz "Blue and White" coalition won 33 seats, but the former chief of staff, Gantz, to abandon his electoral pledge to never join a government led by Netanyahu, caused In the alliance´s rift, its bloc only has 15 seats.

Gantz justified his acceptance of negotiations with Netanyahu, contrary to what he had pledged during the past months, that Israel could not afford to proceed to a fourth election, and that Israel needed an emergency government to combat the Corona virus.
