An Israeli military source said Tuesday it had completed construction of a maritime barrier with the north-western border of the Gaza Strip.
The barrier is 200 meters long and 6 meters high, and includes advanced technological systems with the aim of preventing the infiltration of Hamas militants across the sea, the source was quoted by the 10th Hebrew channel as saying.
The barrier, which lasted for seven months, included huge rocks placed in seawater, with an intelligent wall containing advanced sensors to detect any movement of insurgents or attempts to detect tunnels.
