The mini-cabinet is inclined to accept a truce with the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, Israeli radio said Sunday evening.
The radio quoted sources as saying that "the cabenite tends to accept the established ceasefire agreement."
According to the radio, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu´s office issued a statement confirming that the Israeli army was ready for any eventuality in the Gaza Strip.
The mini-ministerial Council for Political and Security Affairs concluded Wednesday evening to discuss UN and Egyptian efforts to reach a political settlement between Israel and the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip.
The chief of staff of the occupation army, General Gadi Ezenkot, who reviewed the situation in the sector, attended the session and said the army was ready for any scenario.
Several Israeli media outlets said the prospect of a political settlement in Gaza was slim.
