According to human rights sources, the Israeli Prisons department plans to impose a series of sanctions against Palestinian prisoners during the next phase.
The prison administration plans to impose a series of new punitive measures against prisoners in Hadarem prison and various prisons in the coming period, said a statement released by the official Palestinian Authority for prisoners and editors.
According to the reports of Hadarim prisoners, these punishments would be to remove them from their rooms to the prison courtyards at the time of the inspection, as well as to tighten them up when they were going to the courtyards.
According to the authority, the prison administration at Hadarem informed the prisoners that it would categorically prevent the introduction of any educational books during family visits and cancel all purchases of frozen foodstuffs.
The prisoners were cited by the latest committee, which was set up by Israeli Internal Security Minister Gilad Ardan, to tighten the noose on prisoners in various prisons.
"Such matters will lead to worse conditions in prisons, in light of the unprecedented incitement by the Israeli right and the continuing racist directives of Ardan and the director of the Prison Service against them," the prisoners said.
Ardan had announced the mid-June of the past, setting up a special committee to determine the conditions of detention of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails, and to make recommendations including ways to minimize their stranglehold.
On the other hand, the Israeli occupation authorities issued 38 "administrative" detention orders against Palestinian prisoners, for periods ranging from three to six months, renewable several times.
The Palestinian prisoners ´ club said on Tuesday that one of the 24 orders issued against prisoners was arrested for the first time or the occupation was re-arrested after their release.
The number of administrative prisoners in the occupation jails reached some 430 during July last month, while the total number of prisoners (male and female) was about 6,000, including 300 children and 53 prisoners.
administrative detention; detention without charge or trial is based on a confidential file and evidence that the detainee or his lawyer cannot access and, according to Israeli military orders, the detention order can be renewed indefinitely, as an administrative detention order is issued for a maximum period of six months, renewable.
