France’s Internet Regulatory Authority announced Thursday that it had imposed fines on Google and Amazon groups amounting to 100 million euros and 35 million euros, respectively, for their non-compliance with the cookie legislation.
The National Committee for Informatics and Freedoms regulates the websites of Google (France) and Amazon (France) in particular the practice of depositing ad tracking tools on the computer of the Internet user "without obtaining his prior consent."
