An Argentine medical delegation specializing in pediatric bone surgery has concluded a visit to the Gaza Strip, where he conducted 50 complex and complex surgeries at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.
The Ministry of Health said in a statement that the Argentine medical delegation came to the sector after a great effort exerted by the ministry in cooperation with the Palestine Children Relief Association to coordinate the delegation to ease the suffering of our people in light of the siege and difficulties in traveling abroad for treatment.
Dr. Ghassan Abu Zuhri, an orthopedic consultant at Nasser Medical Complex, said that the Argentine delegation stayed in Gaza for a week, during which it examined more than 120 cases and performed operations for rare and more complex cases.
Abu Zuhri pointed to the importance of the role of such medical delegations in the continued flow of information and medical expertise of local medical staff in Gaza under the Israeli siege and restrictions and prevent medical missions from traveling abroad.
"I am happy to be in the sector to serve the Palestinian people," said Dr. Roberto Seroti, head of the Argentine medical delegation. "He worked in the operations department for more than 12 hours a day. He performed eight operations a day to make the most of the time to serve the sick children.
The head of the Argentine delegation praised the level of local medical staff and the medical capabilities in Gaza, pointing out that the local medical staff is keen to receive expertise and learn quickly to conduct operations themselves in the coming period.
