53 members of Congress from the Democratic Party signed today, Friday, a petition calling on the administration of US President Joe Biden to pressure Israel to end its siege on the Gaza Strip and to open the crossings permanently to ensure the entry of aid.
The petition considered that “the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza is intolerable,” stressing the importance of humanitarian aid reaching the 2.1 million Palestinians living in it.
"Securing these changes is vital to confronting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which has exacerbated after the recent war and has left an estimated 1.3 million Palestinians in need of humanitarian assistance," she added.
