The Joint Committee for Palestinian Refugees directed 3 notes to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, the Commissioner General of the Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees "UNRWA", Philip Lazzarini, and the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, to intervene urgently and quickly to get out of the crises The sequence that afflicts the UN organization and affects refugee services.
Mahmoud Khalaf, the committee´s coordinator, said in a press statement today: The notes address those in charge of bringing more resources to get UNRWA out of its acute crises.
He stressed that the committee will continue its efforts until all the relief, health and educational needs and services of the refugees are met, stressing that the committee will strive to implement what was mentioned in the memorandum.
Khalaf explained that the memorandum included a number of demands, most notably: the pressure to consider the UNRWA budget as part of the United Nations budget, in addition to not compromising refugee services and working to expand them in proportion to the natural increase of the population, and stopping the work of the unified cabin system or adopting the unified cabana with the value of the yellow cab for all.
