She stated that the pregnant prisoner faces harsh conditions from the moment of arrest, from malnutrition to inappropriate medical care, and during labor, female prisoners suffer from the pain of childbirth for hours before being transferred to the hospital, and they give birth handcuffed and handcuffed and tightly guarded, and forced to deal with humiliation before returning immediately To prison.
Al-Deek said in a letter that the Israeli prison authorities will hold her in solitary confinement after she gives birth to her child.
In its letter, the mission indicated that the occupation does not allow new mothers to keep their children with them for more than two years, and years after their release, prison remains a source of terror for these children, as they face the same conditions of oppression and intimidation.
She pointed out that among the 39 Palestinian female prisoners who are deprived of their freedom behind the bars of the occupation, there are 12 mothers.
In its letter, the mission called for immediate intervention in support of international law and decisive action to compel Israel to immediately release Anhar al-Dik, release all arbitrarily detained prisoners, especially women and children, end the illegal occupation of the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, and end impunity Israel from punishment, and holding Israel accountable for its grave violations, including before the International Criminal Court, with the aim of achieving long-awaited justice for all victims of its colonial and apartheid regime in order to deter further crimes.
